We've spent two days in the redwoods in northern California. The drive called "The Avenue of the Big Trees" is quite phenominal. I do not have any pictures driving through the avenue, it's so hard to describe. The depth of big trees and their diameter is so great. The growth under the trees is so green and luscious. And you have to look up very high to see the sun coming through the canopy.
Our first night campsite in Humboldt State Park was too much. Dark and quiet, we had the best campfire with the girls (our nieces), s'mores. It's been pretty comical in camp, as we're all sleeping in our motorhome as it is quite cold at night so a tent is tough. We're quite happy in our tight confines and lots of giggles have been had. Todays pictures are of our 3 miles hike before dinner that night, our first look at the big trees up close and personal.
